My name is Steve Roy and I struggled for over a decade with no energy, lack of motivation, and trying to balance work, family, and my personal health.
I wanted to be a good role model for my two young daughters but had nothing left at the end of the day for myself. I was burned out, wiped out, and was just happy to make it through another day. And it was because I put myself dead last in my priorities.

There was so much more I wanted out of life; to feel great, to be strong and lean, to have tons of energy to play with my girls, to be more self-confident, and to be a better husband and father.
But you and I were taught to put everyone and everything in front of our own needs and we suffer because of it. We weren't taught the single most important lesson we can learn and it's this: to be the best father, husband, and man we're capable of becoming, we must put our health and wellness at the top of our priority list.
When we do, every aspect of our lives improves.
After so many years of struggle and trying to do it all alone, I turned to community for help. It was the missing piece that helped me turn my health, and ultimately, my life, around.
It was then that I started the Fit Dad Nation in an effort to help other dads who were struggling just like me. It was place for like-minded dads to share their wins and struggles, to hold each other accountable, and to motivate and inspire each other.
That community is five years in the making is what the Fit Dad Nation Circle is all about.

Being part of the Fit Dad Nation has been a valuable experience. The brotherhood between these men has grown since day one through Facebook interactions and most importantly, the weekly calls. Not only does it allow us to check in with Steve regarding fitness/nutrition issues, but we can bring up other personal issues that may be challenging us. This group also allows me access to the monthly challenges, which motivates me and breeds a fun competition amongst us. I cannot recommend joining this group enough!
Being relatively new to fitness, the wealth of opportunities that the group has given me to better myself has been unparalleled. Opportunities to learn from like-minded men who desire not only to be fit and healthy, but to learn how by becoming fitness minded I can become a better dad. My family has benefited greatly from the knowledge I’ve gained and I’m able to show my kids how a healthier lifestyle can impact life in so many positive ways.
I was always a “lone wolf” when it came to my fitness. I would read about the latest trends, develop a plan, and work out by myself. I always failed. I would always find a way to lie to myself, to cheat, and to under achieve. Since joining the community, I have found success after success fitness-wise. The difference is in the approach of accountability. Having other men who are looking to achieve the best life possible has pushed me to be better each day. The members have encouraged, listened, commented, and kept me focused on the end game, not the short quick fix.

So many of us feel selfish and guilty for taking time for ourselves, but I can tell you from firsthand experience, that the opposite is true.
You cannot be the best father and husband you can be if you aren’t taking care of yourself first.
Think about the last year of your life. Are you happy with what you’ve accomplished? Are you prepared to work to make the next year better? Getting fit and staying fit isn’t easy. It takes work. It takes discipline. It takes consistency. But you’re worth it.
